Immersed in music from a young age, Wesley initiated the establishment of "Central City Jazz" as a jazz combo during his junior year at Waltrip High School in the fall of 2023.
What began as a jazz band, comprised of classmates sharing a common passion for the genre, quickly evolved into a journey of artistic and entrepreneurial exploration. Nights spent honing their craft through rigorous practice sessions soon led Wesley to delve into the business aspects of bandleading, thus igniting his interest in booking gigs.
Following a few captivating performances at a local jazz bar alongside a different ensemble of musicians each performance, Wesley felt a stirring desire to extend opportunities to as many young artists to showcase their talents professionally. Thus, he steered Central City Jazz towards its current trajectory as a dedicated band booking agency, with a primary focus on nurturing the emerging talents of tomorrow.
Fast forward to the fall of 2024, Central City Jazz embarks on a new chapter, expanding its reach to Kansas City, MO, while maintaining its commitment to fostering the growth of Houston's vibrant music scene.
